Athena Engelman is an E-RYT Certified Instructor and Teacher Trainer for Cloud Nine Yoga School. She began her teaching journey in 2002 with the encouragement of her teacher Erika Fatih Calig and has not looked back. Athena has found yoga be an outlet of creative expression in her asana practice as well as her spiritual practice. She has a playful approach and enjoys teaching a class that integrates the foundation postures with creative sequencing that challenge the student in a nurturing environment. She loves integrating the many styles of yoga as she feels blessed to be living in southern California where the most amazing teachers are based. Athena is excited to share her love of yoga with everyone and encourages yoga practitioners to listen, honor and respect their bodies and the beauty that comes from the divine within.

Hosting Yoga retreats locally and internationally she integrates her love of play, yoga, community and travel. Her main influences include Erika Faith Calig, and Jerome Mercier. Athena has trained with Saul David Raye applying the principles of Holistic Yoga and celebrating your inner spirit. Recently she completed intensives with Jivamukti Teacher Alanna Kaivalya.
