class description
This is the full Finishing Sequence from Sri K Pattabhis Jois' Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga system. This audio will simply support any of the other audios that do not include a full and complete cool down (i.e. the mix, moon, power, making space). In addition to all the finishing poses is the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra at the end, done three times, a very powerful mantra. All these finishing poses either cure ailments, purify organs, or steady the CNS.

class description
This class is the traditional version of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga system as taught by Sri K. Pattabhis Jois. The only difference between this class and the other offered Ashtanga Primary Series selection is that the beginning mantra has a different melody (which some sanskrit scholars will say is "correct") and there is a small 5-7 minute discourse regarding Mysore and traditional practice, followed by backbends and finsihsing poses.

class description
The Ashtanga Mix classes are so much fun! This Moon Day sequence was recorded on the New Moon. The body responds to the waxing and waning of the moon. So we adjust our practice accordingly. This class was so much fun to create and offers easier modifications to the Ashtanga poses. You should be familiar to Ashtanga yoga in order to get the most out of this special class.

class description
The Primary Ashtanga Vinyasa Series, also known as “First” Series, or Yoga Chikitsa, which translates in Sanskrit to mean yoga therapy, is the foundational sequence that heals and purifies the whole bodily system using tristhana. Tristhana are the three elements, which make up the practice. They are vinyasa; the movement of body and breath in unison, the bandhas; which are subtle internal energetic locks, and drishti; the mind-stilling gaze. These sadhanas, or practices, are therapeutic for the body, emotions, and mind.

class description
Ashtanga has many series of poses, which are labeled “primary,” “secondary,” and “advanced.” Many of us get stuck in first-series and never get to do the other wonderful poses the advanced series has to offer. The advanced backbends in Secondary, the arm-balances and inversions in the third-series are fun, but perhaps are not attempted often because of the strictness of the Ashtanga system, as taught by Sri. K. Pattabhis Jois.
John has devised a simple intelligent flow of postures that incorporates first, second, and advanced postures in order to develop parts of the body that need a little extra help and attention. This class is available to even a newer practitioner because of the options and modifications that John offers…..so that nobody feels left out of the mix!
This class is fun, challenging, and informative, as we blend the postures into balanced sequences that make sense for everyone!
